This program aims to provide strengthened biosecurity for the vegetable industry by ensuring the interests of the industry are represented in the biosecurity decision making process as well as in areas requiring technical expertise.
The appointed Biosecurity Advisor, Dr Kevin Clayton-Greene, represents the vegetable industry in biosecurity matters and provides technical advice on various working groups. The Advisor also offers input to biosecurity communication channels including the Biosecurity Brief column in Vegetables Australia, hard copy information sheets and biosecurity email alerts.
Effective communication of biosecurity information to Australia’s vegetable industry will help to achieve a greater degree of preparedness and awareness of biosecurity issues.
This project has been funded by Hort Innovation, using the vegetable research and development levy and contributions from the Australian Government. Hort Innovation is the grower-owned, not-for-profit research and development corporation for Australian horticulture.
