This project involved the screening of four herbicides for selective control of weeds in pumpkin and kabocha crops. Command, Authority, Frontier and Brodal were all assessed in replicated trials over a period of 3 seasons at a number of sites in northwest Tasmania. As an outcome of this work, a registration submission for Command was submitted to the NRA in December 1996. The commercial use of this product represents a significant breakthrough, as it will be only one of the few products registered for use in pumpkins and other cucurbits.
