This project investigated improved safety of cleaning methods for export. Major research findings and industry outcomes of this project include determination of effective quarantine fumigation treatments against several sweet corn pests and development of the commercial scale application techniques for the sweet corn industry which are suitable for use by exporters as well as growers. The new fumigant does not cause any injury to sweetcorn and does not leave any residue. The work described in this report is an important contribution to the new development of safe fumigants in horticulture and new application of fumigation techniques for sweetcorn.
