This tour report details the International Potato Group Meeting, which saw three Australian delegates from the Australian potato industry travel to South Africa to learn from, and be exposed to, the international potato growing industry. The delegation to the conference and meeting was instigated by the need for the Australilan potato industry to be involved with the international industry for the purpose of remaining competitive and staying up-to-date with international research and issues. A key objective in participating in both the African Potato Association meeting and the International Potato Congress was to investigate the effectiveness of marketing programmes utilised by the potato industry in other countries.
