Project sought innovative methods for the control of powdery mildew in cucumber and zucchini crops, this included investigations into incorporated IPM and safe chemicals that induce systemic acquired resistance (SAR) enabling them to fight pathogens when attacked. Results from the project showed that this method was excellent for cucumbers however not as dramatic for zucchini. Also documented was the importance of good agronomic practices, with healthy plants responding better then those that lack water or nutrients.
