The project “Opportunities and challenges faced with emerging technologies in the Australian vegetable industry” aims to provide a broad review of technologies that are influencing the competitiveness of the Australian vegetable industry. This report is the second of the five analyses to be developed in 2009-10 and reviews emerging environmental technologies that can be implemented in the horticultural industry to tackle climate change challenges. The present report discusses the opportunities and challenges of emerging technologies for mitigation and adaptation of the Australian horticulture industry to climate change. While there are several management measures that can be used for mitigation and adaptation, this report deals with measures supported by specific technology developments.
