Victoria is the largest producer growing around 850ha of celery per year, about 65% of the Australian celery market. Overall, the celery industry is rather small compared to larger vegetable industries such as potatoes, lettuce, and cucurbits. At the time this project was initiated, there were only 14 current minor use permits issued relevant to the celery industry, but only one for the control of both aphids and pests. This report presents data generated from field efficacy and ‘good laboratory practice’ residue trials with Movento 240 SC Insecticide in celery which will allow for a submission for registration to the APVMA for the control of aphids and thrips.
