Western Flower Thrips Resistance and Success*2 Naturalyte* Insect Control
This 4-page fact sheet was developed by Dow AgroSciences in response to growing concerns about some populations of Western Flower Thrips (WFT) in the Sydney basin (in ‘closed’ systems) developing resistance to spinosad, the active ingredient in Success*2 Naturalyte* (* indicates trademark of Dow AgroSciences). It explains how resistance develops, provides information on WFT including its life cycle and the importance of timing insecticide sprays at certain times of the life cycle and of rotating chemicals. Guidelines for WFT management, including non-chemical, cultural controls and the appropriate use of Success2 (in rotation with other chemicals) are provided.
