The 2012 AUSVEG National Convention is shaping up to be the biggest event ever hosted by AUSVEG with skyrocketing delegate numbers, an impressive line-up of distinguished speakers and guests, and a record number of nominees for the prestigious Awards for Excellence.

AUSVEG is the Peak Industry Body Australia’s 9,000 vegetable and potato growers.
“The Speakers Program this year is truly inspirational and is sure to impress. Amongst the speakers is the Editor of The Herald and Weekly Times, Ed Gannon, who will be discussing the importance of rural reporting in metropolitan media,” said AUSVEG National Marketing Manager, Simon Coburn.
“Newly appointed Leader of the Australian Greens, Senator Christine Milne, will be speaking at the Women in Horticulture event and will also be attending the AUSVEG National Awards for Excellence Gala Dinner.”
“Every year the AUSVEG National Convention is an event not to be missed but this year will be, without a doubt, the most spectacular event that has ever graced the horticulture industry,” said Mr Coburn.
“Growers of Australia are some of the hardest working people in the country and we feel they deserve an event that will not only provide invaluable insight into new Research & Development (R&D) and a jam-packed Trade Show, but an event which will also have an exhilarating social program,” said Mr Coburn.
“We have a social program tailored to suit every delegate who walks through the doors, ranging from a jet-boating Young Grower’s event, to a Historic Pub night vising Hobart’s most iconic watering holes and not forgetting the relaxing Partner’s Program which will include a visit to the famous Salamanca Markets and MONA.
“The AUSVEG National Awards for Excellence recognise and celebrate the outstanding achievements of the vegetable and potato industries’ most successful growers, researchers and businesses from across the supply chain and this year the nominations for the Awards have far exceeded the numbers from last year.
“With almost a month to go still, more than 500 people have registered for the event with over 1,000 room nights being sold, providing a windfall for Hobart’s leading accommodation hotels,” said Mr Coburn.
The 2012 AUVEG National Convention, Trade Show and Awards for Excellence, is being held at Wrest Point Hotel Casino in Hobart, from 10-12 May 2012. To organise a delegate pass or accommodation please email info@ausveg.com.au or call AUSVEG directly on (03) 9822 0388.
