“Brisbane will see more than one million dollars injected into the area’s  economy over three days next year”  AUSVEG Chairman John Brent said on announcing that Brisbane will be the location for the 2011 National Convention for AUSVEG, the peak industry body for Australia’s 9,000 Potato and Vegetable Growers.

Growers and industry stakeholders will converge on Brisbane from 14-16 April 2011 with Brisbane officially set to host the AUSVEG National Convention again, following the great success of the industry’s inaugural 2010 Convention held at Jupiters on the Gold Coast.

The 2011 AUSVEG National Convention will be held at the five star Sebel-Citigate Hotel in Brisbane’s inner CBD next to the iconic Brisbane City Hall. The 14-16 April time period will fit in with delegates wishing to make the most of the Sunshine State’s excellent weather and ties in with school holiday periods on the East Coast of the country.

AUSVEG Chairman Mr John Brent, said that he was exceptionally proud to see this landmark event returning to his home State and it will be exciting to build on the enormous success of the inaugural convention of 2010.

“To follow up on such a successful event this year with what will be another awe-inspiring convention is a testament to the hard work and dedication shown by AUSVEG staff” said Mr Brent.

“One of the biggest elements to the 2010 Convention was its massive Trade Show and next year’s show is already set to eclipse previous events in the industry,” said AUSVEG Chief Executive Officer Mr Richard Mulcahy.

“This will again be the biggest single gathering of vegetable and potato growers for the entire year and no other conference can make that claim,” said Mr Brent.

“I urge all vegetable industry stakeholders to be part of this important industry event”.
