AUSVEG is proud to announce that the 2014 AUSVEG National Convention, Trade Show and Awards for Excellence will be held in the city of Cairns in tropical north Queensland, Australia.

From June 19 – 21, AUSVEG will host over one-thousand delegates at the Cairns Convention Centre for three days of innovation, information and entertainment. The 2014 Convention was announced at the official grand opening of AUSVEG’s new national headquarters in Melbourne.

“AUSVEG is extremely excited to bring the 2014 National Convention to Cairns next year. After hosting approximately 1,100 delegates at Jupiters Gold Coast in 2013, we expect to eclipse that number in 2014,” said AUSVEG Chief Executive Officer, Richard Mulcahy.

AUSVEG is the leading voice in horticulture representing Australia’s 9,000 vegetable and potato growers.

Following the unparalleled success of the 2013 conference, the National Convention is set to return with an array of events and hospitality for all members of the Australian horticulture industry.

“The National Convention has cemented itself as the biggest event on the Australian horticultural calendar. Bringing this event to the backyard of Australia’s largest vegetable-growing state will allow us to hold the biggest Convention ever.”

“The city of Cairns could not be a more ideal location to host our fifth National Convention. The facilities, hospitality and weather on offer is unrivalled, and I encourage delegates from all walks of life to bring their families and enjoy what the Sunshine State has to offer,” said Mr Mulcahy.

The 2014 National Convention is expected to generate around $1 million in revenue for the city of Cairns.

“The National Convention is the premier event for networking within the Australian horticulture industry and provides delegates with an invaluable opportunity to learn and hear from some of the industry’s best,” said Mr Mulcahy.

Favourite events in 2013 included the Convention Trade Show, where over 100 exhibitors from across the horticultural supply chain were present, and the AUSVEG Awards for Excellence Gala Dinner where the industry’s best were recognised for their contributions over the year.
