Queenslanders enthused for biggest event in Australian horticulture
Over 250 members of Queensland’s vegetable and potato industry will descend upon the Cairns Convention Centre from 19-21 June for the highly-anticipated 2014 AUSVEG National Convention, Trade Show and Awards for Excellence.
The AUSVEG National Convention is the biggest event on the Australian horticultural calendar, and will attract over 1,000 delegates to the tropical north Queensland city.
“We are extremely pleased to see so many Queenslanders support AUSVEG and the wider horticulture industry by registering to attend this week’s not-to-be-missed event,” said AUSVEG spokesperson, Michael Bodnarcuk.
AUSVEG is the leading horticultural body representing Australia’s 9,000 vegetable and potato growers.
“With a range of exciting events such as the annual Great Debate, Kalfresh Panel and of course, the coveted climax of the three-day event – the Awards for Excellence – 2014 promises to be the biggest and most successful year yet,” said Mr Bodnarcuk.
The Convention is expected to inject around $2 million into the Cairns economy, with the flow-on effect set to benefit local tourism.
“It’s not only the great weather, infrastructure and suitable venues that will see the fourth National Convention in five years held in Queensland, but it’s also the fantastic Queenslanders who support AUSVEG and this great event every year,” said Mr Bodnarcuk.
