Around
200 prominent members of the South Australian vegetable and potato industries
will come together at the end of January to celebrate the success of local
industry at the inaugural AUSVEG SA Vegetable Industry Dinner.

 

The
event will be the largest of its kind in horticulture and will see leading
growers, supply chain participants as well as prominent political and business
figures from across the state come together for the dinner, to be held at the
Arkaba Hotel on 28 January 2015.

 

“Our
dinner will be an excellent opportunity to celebrate South Australia’s
vegetable and potato industries and the hard work that our growers put in to
produce some of the best quality vegetables and potatoes in the world,” said
AUSVEG SA State Manager Mr Jordan Brooke-Barnett. 

 

AUSVEG
SA is the leading body representing the interests of potato and vegetable
producers in the state and provides growers with a united voice and strong
representation with all levels of government.

 

“As
an organisation we have worked hard to raise the prominence of our growers and
communicate the fantastic work they do within the community. This dinner will
be an ideal opportunity to engage with growers and industry to see how we can
continue working together for a stronger future for the industry.”

 

The
South Australian vegetable and potato industries are worth $550 million in
gross value to the state economy are expected to be relied upon more heavily in
the state with the decline of traditional industries like manufacturing.

 

“Tickets
are selling fast and we are running close to capacity so I would advise anyone

Brooke-Barnett.
