Nearly 250 members of the Victorian vegetable and potato industry will join the best of Australian horticulture at the Cairns Convention Centre from 19-21 June for the highly anticipated 2014 AUSVEG National Convention, Trade Show and Awards for Excellence.

The AUSVEG National Convention is the biggest event on the Australian horticultural calendar, and will attract over 1,000 delegates from across Australia and the globe to the tropical north Queensland city.

“We are thrilled to see so many Victorians support their industry and wider horticulture by registering to attend this week’s not-to-be-missed event,” said AUSVEG spokesperson, Michael Bodnarcuk.

AUSVEG is the leading horticultural body representing Australia’s 9,000 vegetable and potato growers.

The 2014 AUSVEG Convention will boast several days of informative speaker sessions. An industry-first Produce Innovation Seminar will also cover the latest developments in vegetable and food packaging – a particularly important consideration for growers exporting their produce overseas.

“Victorian vegetable producers will definitely benefit from the expertise on hand at the Produce Innovation Seminar.”

“The strong support demonstrated by the Victorian vegetable industry through their presence in far north Queensland is fantastic and helps AUSVEG to effectively advocate to the nation’s decision makers on the issues most important to the industry’s survival,” said Mr Bodnarcuk.
