AUSVEG in the media (week ending 07/05/19)
AUSVEG National Manager – Public Affairs Tyson Cattle appeared in online media this week calling on the major Australian political parties to review policies with negative impacts for the horticulture industry, ahead of the 2019 Federal Election. Mr Cattle noted that issues such as wage increases, reviews of agricultural chemicals and a lack of commitment to an Agriculture Visa all have significant impacts on the future viability of Australian horticulture, and reiterated that the Australia horticulture industry needs Government support in order to continue to grow. AUSVEG National Manager – Export Development Michael Coote appeared in online media this week discussing the need for the Australian vegetable industry to maintain and expand international export market access. Mr Coote noted that by improving trade negotiations and relationships with markets such as Japan and Korea, the Australian vegetable export industry will continue to grow. Read more here.
