Protected cropping is one of the fastest growing food producing sectors in Australia.

Hort Innovation, under the Hort Innovation Leadership Fund, is co-funding the development and delivery of a Graduate Diploma and Graduate Certificate in Protected Cropping at Western Sydney University, which are designed to comprehensively cover both Australian and international challenges in sustainable greenhouse production in a changing global climate.

This course is fully accredited and unique to Western Sydney University, incorporating science, technology and business skills with a focus on high-tech and intensive horticulture.

Flavorite, Costa Group, Perfection Fresh Australia, Australian Fresh Leaf Herbs and Greenworks have teamed up with Western Sydney University to offer internships for students to gain work experience in relation to these courses.

Students are eligible to apply for one of the 65 scholarships (up to $5,000 each) and internships (up to $17,500 each).

There are still a few weeks left until applications close for the scholarships on offer, with the first intake of successful applicants being in the 2023 Summer semester.
