FareShare operates Australia’s largest charity kitchen. It rescues food that would otherwise go to waste and cooks it into free nutritious meals for people in need.

FareShare is continuing to supply meals to many who are unable to get government assistance, including those in indigenous communities, international students and visa holders, as well as its regular charities that supply meals to those experiencing food insecurity.

FareShare’s cooked, nutritious meals can be life-changing, boosting physical and mental health when needed most. The volunteer-powered Melbourne kitchen aims to ensure a typical FareShare meal contains at least 65 per cent of the daily recommended intake of vegetables.

FareShare relies on donations to provide pre-cooked meals to people in need. Growers can help by donating vegetables that might otherwise go to waste (e.g. if it doesn’t meet aesthetic specifications, cancelled orders).
