During day two of Hort Connections 2019, delegates were treated to a range of speaker sessions and events that aimed to inspire them and guide them into the future.

The day began with the Perfection Fresh Breakfast Session, where Foodbank Australia CEO Brianna Casey discussed the importance of food security and how Foodbank is working to help Australia’s most vulnerable groups and individuals.

After breaky, delegates enjoyed the jam-packed Plenary Sessions program. Speakers included Hort Innovation CEO Matt Brand, AUSVEG CEO James Whiteside + Produce Marketing Association A-NZ (PMA A-NZ) CEO Darren Keating, Dr Sandro DemaioAdam Liaw and Samantha Gash. Topics ranged from the state of the horticulture industry, how we can encourage Australians to boost their veg consumption and how to live life outside your comfort zone.

During the afternoon’s sessions, AUSVEG and PMA A-NZ coordinated their own speaker streams, with highlights including the launch of the Fair Farms program, a panel looking at the Export Life Cycle and a number of speakers giving an in-depth look at produce marketing.

The huge Trade Show was also open all day, with the day concluding in the Trade Show Happy Hour where delegates could check out all of the wonderful exhibitors and network with other attendees!
