AUSVEG in the media (week ending 17/07/18)
AUSVEG CEO James Whiteside appeared in print and online media, as well as on radio and national television, discussing the recent recall of several lines of imported frozen vegetables due to concerns about possible Listeria contamination. Mr Whiteside said that Australia has some of the most stringent food safety regulations in the world, and that recent country of origin labelling reforms have made it easier for consumers to support local growers and buy Australian.
AUSVEG also commented on the incoming changes to security procedures for outbound air cargo, saying that while having a safe and secure supply chain is important, it’s crucial these measures don’t compromise the viability and quality of Australian vegetable exports.
